About Us

Elysian Farm and Alberta Vet Center – Reproduction have joined forces at our new state of the art facility to offer board, training, sales and comprehensive reproduction services all under one roof. The property is on 135 acres just 3kms west of the picturesque Sylvan Lake in central Alberta. The facility boasts a 100′ x 200′ indoor arena, a 60′ hotwalker, a full stride treadmill, 20 permanent stalls in the main barn with another 11 temporary stalls during breeding season. As well as another 5 quarantine stalls in our approved quarantine building. We have a complete reproduction lab with 2 sets of stocks as well as a stallion collection area in the main barn. We also have a completely separated mare and foal facilities which offers 7 extra large foal out stalls equipped with cameras, several large mare and foal paddocks plus pastures for summer grazing.

We are carefully and thoughtfully designing and building the pens and paddocks on the farm to ensure we can safely and practically house the large numbers of reproduction clients while having our permanent horses in their own little oases. We have built 10 pens on the south side of the arena to house our year round horses, these pens are 60′ x 80′ for 2 horses and 40′ x 80′ for the stallions, each pen has a 200′ grass pasture attached for summer grazing. We also have 6 pastures, ranging in size from 10 to 30 acres for our mares and foals, young fillies, young colts/geldings, riding geldings and recipient mares. We believe that all horses should be able to socialize and young horses should get to run and play in pastures with their buddies, both for their mental and physical health. For our breeding clients we are continuing to improve and expand, we will have 18, 30′ x 40′ outdoor paddocks on hog fuel for mud control in 2024 as well as another 5 – 10 larger paddocks for multiple horses. This will be in addition to our 8, 40′ x 85′ permanent steal pens. See more off our beautiful farm here https://lorriejamieson.smugmug.com/Around-the-farm-2023

Tayler Vick started riding with Lorrie in high school, starting in the .80m and competing all the way up to 1.25m on her incredibly competitive TB mare. She had purchased a lovely young warmblood mare in the meantime who she has competed up to 1.35m. With the help of her family they have been breeding and raising some top quality jumpers, with the oldest being born in 2018. She started off working weekends when just out of high school 10 years ago, after a couple of years she went off to college where she took her Bachelor of Science, then some business courses and then Unit Clerk. She found her passion for horses was too strong and so she came back to working full time and now is the head young horse trainer, helps with training of all of the competition horses, grooms at horse shows, does chores and anything and everything else that needs doing, including keeping Lorrie on track and only slightly late, which is no small feat!

Dominique Borduas started working for us full time in the early summer of 2022. She had mainly ridden in pony club as a young person and then she attended Olds College where she got her VMR and AHT, graduating in 2021. Dom is a huge asset around the farm with her attention to detail, her knowledge of how to asses and address injuries or issues and her chatty, friendly nature. She has worked very hard on her riding and now exercises the competition horses, rides the young ones once they are ready, administers shots and medication as well as daily chores. During breeding season she can be found assisting down at the reproduction end of the barn for most of her day. She has moved her lovely, kind gelding into the .90m where he is very competitive.

Let’s build something together.
